I got a copy of Norton 360 (in the box) when purchasing my new laptop. Upon setting up my laptop I activated the Norton Internet Security/ AntiVirus 60 day demo that came from the manufacturer and was pre-installed. That 60 days is running out and I am getting pop up messages warning me of the impending loss of the anti-virus.
When I click on the link it provides for me, it wants me to pay for a year's subscription and doesn't give me an option to input my product keycode from the box copy. I'd like to not have to install a new verson of the software (and potentionally still get repetitive messages from the OEM Norton that I need to buy a new sub) and just update the current one with the product key I purchased.
Can anyone help me?

Hello Jrandom and welcome to the Community. If I understand correctly, you have a key for 360 and you are trying to renew the Norton Internet Security/antiVirus trial and this will not work. The keys are different. What I would suggest is to download and run the Norton Removal Tool, to rid your PC of any traces of that trial program. Then install your copy of 360 from the box, the key should work now. I'm sure if I've forgotten any steps, someone else will let you know. Once you're done, come back and let us know how things went. Before I forget.... did you have any information put in the Identity Safe program? If so, you may want to backup the information and restore it once you get 360 installed.

Hello Jrandom
Welcome to the Norton Community Forum
I would first download the N360 version 5 program and save to your desktop. I recommend this because the program will be newer than what is on the CD. The key from the N360 box will be good on the installed N360, but do not install it yet.

Near the end of the NIS trial period, I would uninstall the trial of NIS first by using the control panel method and rebooting. Then I would use the Norton Removal Tool to remove the trial version. Please remember that it will uninstall all Norton products.
You can download the Norton Removal tool from

Please pick the proper Norton product that you want to remove. Also please be aware that it will remove all Norton products, so back up Identity Safe using the program to back that up. Also please have your product key handy.
Thank you Hugh for new link
I would run the tool twice and reboot after each run of it. Then you will be ready to install N360 using one of my links. Please pick the right one to match the boxed version you have as the keys are not interchangeable. Please remember to run live update and reboot after finishing the install.
Please come back if you have any further questions. Thanks.

Thanks. I ran the removal tool 2x, rebooting after each time. I manually uninstalled Norton Backup. I used the download link and installed the latest 360 version. I have registered the product and look like I am good to go. Thanks.
