Hello,
I ran a complete scan today and Norton scanned only 300.000 files instead of 1.200.000. I checked my history and saw something else. I don't know how to translate correctly, but it says something like WS. Trojan.H exempted. Because of the low number of scanned files, I ran another complete scan, and again it only scanned around 300.000 files. I checked whether Norton was running a scan in the background that might explain the low number, but it wasn't. Then I opened the "folder" of my computer and selected disc C and D and scanned those, and again, only 300.000 files were scanned. And I found another Trojan H exempted message in my history.
I ran a complete scan yesterday as well and nothing was wrong then. I haven't deleted any files from the computer in the meantime (except for the temporary internet files). Does anyone know why it only found 300.000 files instead of the usual and what the Trojan message means? I always run the full scan and not the reputation scan.
Thanks in advance.

Hello nes,
Firstly, Could you tell us which version of N360 you have? You can find this by clicking Support > About.
Does the log entry you have noticed say Trojan H Exonerated? If this is the case I have see this too, and since exonerated means proven innocent I will guess that a suspect file was proven innocent.
If you feel you need a second opinion on demand scanner, the free version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is Norton Compatible. You can download a copy from http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_
Norton does not need to scan every file. Once a file is trusted it is skipped unless it has been changed. This shortens the duration of the scan improving performance.
I hope this helps.
Dave.

Hello,
I have version 6.0.0.145.
My Norton is Dutch, but I think it could be the same as exonerated.
The number of "skipped" files disconcerted me, but I'm running the Malwarebytes scan right now.
Thank you very much for your help.

The scan was completed and nothing was found. Thanks again.

Hi nes,
If you are running scans somewhat close together and there have been no virus definition updates received between them, then Norton will skip any unchanged files that have been previously scanned and found to be safe. This will often cause a significant reduction in the file count. Once new signatures have been downloaded, the count should return to the higher number.

Thanks for clarifying.
