Activating available Norton 360 subscription shows "not applicable"

My new HP PC (less than 30 days old & is Windows 7 system 64 bit) came with a Norton 60 day trial which did not plan on buying because had renewed my 360 version this month.  Setting up the PC just let it use the 60 day trial thinking I could deal with Norton later before the 60 days expired.

My Norton account does not show a download button.  I called Norton and the gal speaking was very hard to understand . . . told me my options that another representative would provide when transferring the call.

1.  They would walk me through the process to get my remaining subcription for Norton 360 (free).

2.  They could connect to my PC and do the set up ($99).

She gave me a case number then the call was transferred.  The guy was also hard to understand and his voice had very low volumn.  I am 50 years old and do not have a hearing problem.  I politely told him I call back later.  Also, note that I have owned 5 PCs and very skilled . . . never seen anything like this.  My guess that it is a compatibility issue with WIN7 (64 bit).  I love my XP PCs and dreaded the transition, but I am here today.

Does anyone know how I can get my 360 subscription on my new PC?

Thanks for any help.

Hello Redbird2010

Welcome to the Norton Community Forum

Can you please tell us which Norton product came as a free trial on your pc? What is the version number on the product also.? Once we know what product is installed as a trial version, then we can tell you how to proceed. Thanks.

Re: Activating available Norton 360 subscription shows "not applicable"

Hello Redbird2810

You can wait till your subscription is almost up and then add your N360 version 4 to the computer. When you are ready to install N360, then please remove NIS using the control panel method and reboot. Then I would suggest the Norton Removal Tool since you are changing products. Please be aware that it will remove all Norton products.

If you use the Identity Safe feature, then you can back up that file and move it back to N360 after installation.

You can download N360 from here and pick the correct version as the keys are not interchangeable.

Norton 360 v4 Standard: www.norton.com/n360s_4

Norton 360 v4 Premier: www.norton.com/n360p_4

Please remember to run live update and to reboot after receiving all updates.

To retrieve your key, please go to www.mynortonaccount.com

Please come back and let us know how you  made out. Thanks

I was not going to wait for the last days of the trial subscription and became ready!  I think all is running great.  Found my product key and did the install/updates/reboot.

Thank you!
