Backup Problems

Hi,

I am having some problems with backing up to an external hardrive through Norton. Recently, I have been getting the message "Destination Drive is not accessable. Make sure it is connected and try again". It has previously worked perfectly, but now this is happening. In the mean time I downloaded another backup programme which is working perfectly, so I know that it is not my hard drive. However, I want to get what I paid for from Norton so any help would be appreciated.

Welcome,

Can you help us a bit? Please provide a bit more information on your hardware and software. Operating system? Version of Norton, and which product? Any changes that have been made to the configuration about the time the problem began? Any other errors of differences in operation since the problem began?

Thanks. We'll leave a light on

Re: Backup Problems

Can you try to create a new backup set and select the destination as your external drive?

Here are the steps:

In the Norton 360 main window, move the mouse pointer over Backup, and then click Manage Backup Sets.
On the Summary tab, under Things you can do, click Create new backup set.
In the window that appears, type a name for your backup set, and then click OK.
On the What tab, under File Types, select a file category.
On the Where tab, click Refresh and then select the your external drive.
In the Manage Backup Sets window, click Save Settings.

Run the backup, and let us know the results.

Brilliant. Thanks!

It seems to be working now, I am running a new backup currently. I will make sure it is done after it is finished and update you here.

Thanks once again
