Norton 360

I am running Norton 360 v6 on a Windows XP desktop.

There are two user accounts (1 x administrator & 1 x limited user) set up on the desktop.

Backup has been configured and I have verifiied that the files for both accounts have been backed up to an external USB drive.

Backup Status Overlays are swithched on.

However;

For the administrator account the green check mark visual indicator is NOT displayed.

For the limited user account the green check mark visual indicator IS displayed.

I have switched the overlays off, restarted the computer, switched the overlays back on, restarted the computer and manually started the backup but still the green backup status overlay does not display for the administrator account even after creating two new documents.

Is anyone able to help as I have spent hours on this forum and googling to find a solution.

Hi Kydno,

Just curious - are you logging out of one account prior to making changes to the other account?  In other words, are you logged into limited user account and you set overlays to on and then switch user to the admin account without logging out of the limited user account?  I believe I read somewhere that you had to "log out" of the current user in order to go to another user and access settings. 

So if that is true, you would need to log out of the limited user account, log into the admin account and then make the changes in settings for the admin account.  It sounds like you have the Non-admins Access to Settings turned "on" in Settings > Admininstrative Settings > Product Security since you can change settings in the limited user acount.

Hopefully if this is no help someone more knowledgable can help you.

Thanks for your reply. The settings for both accounts (admin and limited) are the same, i.e. Status Overlays are switched on. I have attempted everything that I know but still no joy.

If you have any other theories they would be much appreciated.
