Hi,
I'm unable to get the Antivirus Auto Protect enabled. Worked fine until today. I've tried running the "Fix No" option under 'PC Security Details' but that didn't help.
Currently the following is turned off:
Auto-protect
Sonar Advanced Protection
Antispyware
Incoming Email Scanning
Outgoing Email Scanning
Windows Action Centre (Windows 7 Home Premium) also has message that Norton 360 'reports that it is turned off'" Clicking on 'Turn on Now' doesn't do anything.
Hope someone can help ![]()

Completely removing and reinstalling the N360 software is not a "solution". It is a convenient way for the admin to mark this obvious bug with a "Solved" tag.

This is definitely a problem with N360, I have had this 3 times already.

Thanks for your thoughts - oh BTW the OP is the one who marked the post as the Solution. If the OP feels that solved their problem why would you question it?

Hi aben2amu,
Since this thread is marked as solved and will probably receive very few viewings, I would like to suggest you start a thread of your own, telling us exactly what is wrong with your N 360 and which version (Support > About) you are running as well as the operating system and SP # .
Please also include anything you have tried - like changed settings etc.

I had EXACTlY the same symptoms with my recently downloaded Norton 360 V6.4.0.9 and, based on replies to this post, also solved the problem by downloading and running the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool. This installed N360 V20.1.1.2. However, that action unfortunately wiped out my previous Backup set definitions, and it was a real pain to recreate them. I had 4 backup sets: Documents, Email, Music, Photos. In each case, I had carefully defined some "Included Folders" and "Excluded Folders" in addition to the checked off standard file categories. Furthermore, I previously could see in Windows Explorer the "Norton Backup Drive" and could see exactly which folders and files had been backed up, and therefore could conveniently delete any that were no longer used (for example because I had renamed or relocated them over time). With N360 V20, I no longer can see the Norton Backup Drive in Explorer, and this is VERY inconvenient.

In my last reply, I stated that I could no longer see the Norton Backup Drive in Explorer after using the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool. My error. Under Settings>Backup Settings, the Norton Backup Drive was disabled. Enabling it solved the problem.

Have to agree with with constant uninstall reinstall solution, not worth the hastle. I'm sick and tired of having to try that evey month or so. Subscription expires soon and I dumping Norton.
Enough is enough.

I tried to remove and reinstall my NORTON using the above link.
But ..., it still doesn't solve this problem.
I am using windows 8 Pro.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
