Hello,
the latest Version of Skype 4 is very slow at logon - it needs some minutes every time.
Is it possible that 360 is not comatible with this program?
My IE8 has an similar problem since i have installed 360 v3 - it needs a very long time until the browser is ready to call a site. If i open a new tab in an browser-instance, i have the same issue again.
Is it possible that the Norton Toolbar causes the performance issue?
Does anyone know a solution or a reason for this behaviour?
My System:
Vista SP2 (Newly installed 3 days ago)
IE8
Skype 4.1
Thanks,
regards,
Harry

Hi Harry,
Welcome to Norton Community!
Check the Program Rules in Firewall settings of Norton 360 3.0, and make sure that both Internet Explorer & Skype are set to Allow for the Internet Access. If it is set to Auto or Custom, change it to Allow. Then run LiveUpdate from Norton 360 repeatedly until you see the message "No more updates..." and restart the computer. Let us know the results.

Do you have any other Security programs or Parental Control Software installed for Internet Explorer?
(Let me know if you have Virgin Pc Guard or Broadband Advisor program installed)

Did you try resetting the IE8 Settings?
If not, try that first. Here is the LINK to Microsoft Help page which has detailed instructions. Let us know the results.

It is an absolutely new installed Windows Vista with IE8. I havn't made any changes at the settings.
Maybe i try to deactivate the Norton Add-Ons in IE8 Add-On Manager. The problem will be located if it works fine after this change.
