After downloading and trying to install norton 360 6.0 it says,
a problem occured that needs your attention:
This product is not compatible with this computer's operating systme. You much have on of the following operating systems:
it lists a bunch of windows, one of them being Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium, which i have.
Is there a solution to this problem?
I also used the norton removal tool and got rid of the original norton program that came with this computer.
This is the third computer that i'm installing this program to, the other 2 installed with no problems.
Help Please!

Hi Pr0blems,
Welcome to Norton community,
Please see the Operating system supported for N360 v6 before installing.
http://us.norton.com/360/?inid=us_hho_products_top
You should have Vista Home Premium Service pack 1 to install N360 V6. Please download Service Pack 1( SP1) and install SP1 then install N360 V6
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Senthil

Support for Windows Vista with Service Pack 1 was discontinued last July. Updates are no longer issued for anyone with Service Pack 1.
I would hope that anyone that has Vista, has Service Pack 2 installed on their machine.

Hi
Keeping your Operating System Updated is always recommended, because that will help you fix all the bug holes in your Operating system and protect your OS from Exploitation. Service Pack2 Installation needs Service Pack1 in the Operating System. So Download and install SP1 and then go ahead and install SP2.

Thanks Senthil! ![]()
For anyone who is still using SP1 with thier OS being Vista on their PC, they are what we call around these parts, a sitting duck. Due to the fact that they have not received any critical or important updates from Microsoft for almost a year. In my humble opinion, the internet is not a good place to be with a unpatched computer.

Food for thought Senthil, many users also use Chrome (which is finally supported), Windows Live Mail/Windows Live Mail 2011, Thunderbird etc - would it not make more sense to support the "forward going programs than those that are already discontinued?? ![]()
