Re: Comprehensive scan does not complete

Thanks.  I'm doing the best I can to follow directions.

I WAS able to complete a gmer scan late last night in safe mode.

System Event Log and gmer scan results attached.

Re: Comprehensive scan does not complete

1. Disable Norton's Auto-Protect is enabled

2. I have sent you a Personal Message (PM) look for the Yellow Envelope near the upper right hand corner.

3. Then Run Chkdsk,  Open the "Run" feature  type "cmd" then in the window type "chkdsk"  (all commands without the "")  see if something now shows.

Re: Comprehensive scan does not complete

Here's the result of chkdsk.  Several attempts to run w/the "/F" (fix)  have been stymied.

Suggestions?  Directions?

BTW, JIC I haven't said so lately-thanks.

Re: Comprehensive scan does not complete

Because the drive is the one in use by Windows it will run on the next Windows Restart.

Though I have seen Norton cause a problem where chkdsk does not run on restart..

How long have you had Norton installed and have you had the latest update for 360 download and install.

Re: Comprehensive scan does not complete

My netbook came with a 6 month trial offer of "Norton Internet Security."  I've been having problems for about 2 months so I decided to upgrade recently to 360 when the trial expired.  I have the latest updates.

I've selected "Y" (yes) a couple times to run the fix at restart, but no indication that it has.

I'll disable Auto-Protect again, close everything and reboot, OK?  and should I use safe mode?

Re: Comprehensive scan does not complete

Seeing you don't have any of the TDL's that discounts that

Did you completely remove NIS  before installing 360, So there would be no conflict between the 2 versions

Re: Comprehensive scan does not complete

I believe the 360 download remove the NIS.  It was scheduled to expire the next day anyway.
