Connected to shared network that is unsecured

I am worried about computer security since a break-in at my house last week. I have been regularly checking my security history. When I looked at it this morning there were several alerts for today and yesterday (7th and 8th Nov 2009) noting a high risk saying that I was connected to a shared network which was unsecured. It said to go to Actions and remove this network from my trusted ones. I only have one trusted network and that is my own WPA secured one.  What does this mean?  Also, when I shut down the computer and started it up again - once again went to security history, these messages had disappeared. Was this just a glitch?

Thanks in advance for advice.

Re: Connected to shared network that is unsecured

Hi LDD,

It sounds like your computer may be periodically connecting automatically to a neighbor's unsecured network.  Check your network settings and configure your system so that it will only connect to your network.
