Date of backup does not appear correct

Using Norton 360 (the newest version) I backed up my data to an external HD back in December.  Since then, I've backed up several times, but instead of updating the "Date Modified" on the drive, I continue to see the December date.  Should not Norton update the reference so I know it's not the original, but the most recent update?

The good news is when it finishes after some time it tells me the backup was successful and verified.  But, how about the date on the drive?

Re: Date of backup does not appear correct

Hi,

are the backed up files changed since that time? Or are all of them the same -> no modification since December?

No - they seem to change and are verified.  It's just when looking at the external HD log - it reflects the date in December.  I would think each time I update the backup - it would change to the newer date.

Re: Date of backup does not appear correct

When a file is not changed, Norton 360 will not create a new version from it, as it is unnecessary to save the same file twice, this is a so called incemental backup feature.

Instead of creating it again, it is just changed in it's backup database.

Oh. Thank you for the explanation.
