Downloading onto new laptop

Hi there, I'm new here and hope someone can help me.

Just purchased a new laptop as previous one had died.  I've logged into my Norton account to download version 4.0 (the subscription for this was only renewed three weeks ago) and I cannot find the download button anywhere.  I went to the FAQ section and clicked on the 'download to multiple computers' and this took me to the download section but the language changed to Romanian !!!  The first couple of pages were OK as there was a translate button but once the download actually started there was no way to translate and the desktop icon was all in Romanian as well.

I somehow managed to uninstall this and worried that I had no anti-virus protection I downloaded version 5.0 so now I have the free 30 day thingy but don't want to keep this as I only just renewed version 4.0.

Can anyone tell me how to A) remove / unintall version 5.0 - and B) how to find the download button and download my version of 4.0.

I would be grateful for any help, and please bear in mind that I am a bit of a techno numpty and get easily confused with these things :smileywink:.

Many thanks, Nicola.

Re: Downloading onto new laptop

Hi,

just simply use the v4 key to avtivate version 5. During your subscription time you can update to the latest versions free.

If you have trouble during activation, please contact Customer Support. They can fix activation issues in seconds ;). The easiest and fastest way is the free Online Chat: http://us.norton.com/norton/support/contact/contact.jsp?pvid=cs

Re: Downloading onto new laptop

Hi Nicola,

Welcome to Norton Community!

You can simply uninstall Norton 360 from your old computer through Add/Remove Programs in Control panel. For installing Norton 360 in new computer, refer to the instructions from the following Symantec Kb:

Re: Downloading onto new laptop

Yay, it was suddenly so easy !!!

Thank you both.  I found the product key for version 4 and used it to activate version 5.  I thought it was a seperate thing that I would end up paying for (on top of the renewal last month) but once I read your replies I realised what I needed to do and sorted it in five mins.

I spent so long fiddling with this last night - see, I told you that I was a techno numpty, but thanks to your help I'm all sorted.

Cheers guys :smileyvery-happy:

Nicola
