After installing Norton 360, one of my computers can no longer send or forward emails using Windows Live mail in a Windows 7 environment. Is there anything in Norton 360 installation that could have caused that.

Open Norton interface.
Click SETTINGS on the top.
Remove Check Mark on Smart Firewall on Right Side of that window.
Disable it for 15 mins & click OK.
Check if email works now & post.

Do you now or have you ever had another security program on your computer? If so, you will have to remove it with the removal tool for that program.
Try clicking on Support - Get Support to run Autofix to check your installation and fix what it finds.
Have you run LiveUpdate manually a few times, rebooting as necessary, until no updates are available?

First, I want to thank all of you who responded with suggestions.
I googled the error code and was working with the ports and SSL settings, rebooted several times, loaded a Windows update for Internet Explorer, rebooted, and suddenly the problem went away. I also created another email address to check and see if I had a problem with Windows live mail or Verizon. That test worked.
I do not think Norton was the problem, but it was the last thing I changed before the problem stated occuring. Generally, the first thing I do is a restart and then go to the last change and that is why I posted. This was one of the strange problems that drives one nuts. Again, thank all of you.

Glad you found the solution.
It is understandable to think that the the last change you personally made could cause the issue. Also another example of making sure everything on your computer needs to be fully up to date.
