Error: 8920,204

Hello!  I need help regarding "Error: 8920,204" while live updating.  I had the same problems a few months back and had a few sessions Norton and was able to fix the problem with a simple Norton untinstaller.  But after 2-3 weeks the problem persists and I noticed that it usually occurs when the update file size is about 100MB more or less.  The file that normally doesn't get updated is the anti-virus definitions.  My version is 5.1.0.29.  I've tried downloading the .exe file from Norton and always end up having a corrupted file.  I use Windows Vista 32bit and internet through a USB 3G/HSDPA internet dongle with a limited data plan.  So I pretty much waste a lot of data allocation just trying to update this thing that won't.  By the way, once I tried updating through wifi and update was successful.

Hope you can help me as none of the guys at Norton actually know what they're doing.

Instructions are available in this thread for resolving the LU error. Please follow the same and let us know if that worked.

Please do follow these steps.

 

  1. Start Norton 360.
   2.Click Tasks.
   3.Under General Tasks, click Run LiveUpdate.
   4.When Norton LiveUpdate is finished, click Close.
   5.If the Definitions Updates are not updated, or if you receive any error message, restart your computer and run LiveUpdate again.

 

 

If incase not solved, please use the below link to remove and reinstall
