Error Message 3048,3 - Nortons 360

Has anyone had this error pop up. Computer was idle for an hour with no user programs open then Nortons popped up an eror message, tried something for a solution then reported to contact support. Not able to find out what this eror message means on that page. Is there somewhere that lists all error messages?

Here is the KB Article for Error 3048,3.  -  https://www-secure.symantec.com/norton-support/jsp/help-solutions.jsp?product=Norton+360&lg=english&...

Unfortunately it does not say what causes this error.  It basically says to Exit all programs and reboot.  There is also a link if that doesn't work.

Thanks for the info. Just another one of life's mysteries. An error message can show up from human written coding buno trail back to show what the trigger as. Good thing is it hasnt shown up again during the past few hours on any of the computers with same version of 360 V6.

Hi abmarriott,

Subash passed some information to me the other day in regards to Logs associated with error codes (specifically errors when no code is displayed) but this may give you enough info in order to track your error down.

"You can find it in the log file under C:\Users\ {User Account Name} \ Appdata\   Type CEDurl.txt in the search box and then open the text file and when you analyze the logs you can find the error number."

Let us know if this is any help.

C:/Users is an empty folder on this computer (Windows XP).

No errors today so presume it was just another wonder of the Windows operating system just like the reular IE cannot display page but always does on refresh.

Subash has kindly passed on more info to me:

Since you are using XP:

For Windows Xp the File path will be: C:\Documents and Settings\{User account}\Application Data\Symantec\CEDurl.txt

(Enable show hidden files  XP)
