Click Tools > Add-ons > Plug-ins tab/ Extensions tab, check whether any Norton-Symantec item is showing there as disabled. If so, select it and enable. Restart your Firefox browser and check whether you get the Norton toolbar.

Re: Firefox 3.0 and Norton360 2.5 - Norton Toolbar missing

Hi menondilip,

Sorry for the inconvenience. Can you please provide me the list of installed Add-ons and Plugins in your Firefox?

To check the list, launch Firefox and click on “Tools” -> “Add-ons” and click on “Extensions”. Please list all the existing Extensions.

Also, please go to “Plugins” and list all the existing “Plugins”.

Thanks,

Re: Firefox 3.0 and Norton360 2.5 - Norton Toolbar missing

You might try running Firefox in Safe mode (start>programs>mozilla firefox>firefox in safe mode).  Then shut it down.  Reeboot (just in case).  Then run Firefox normally and see if it picks the toolbar up.  I have seen this problem a few times.

Re: Firefox 3.0 and Norton360 2.5 - Norton Toolbar missing

Hi Phil,

Thanks for the information. From your comment, I understand that this issue is not reproducible for you all the time. Is that correct?

Also, on Firefox, where you are experiencing this issue, do you have any Plugins or Add-ons in common with menondilip?

Thanks.

Re: Firefox 3.0 and Norton360 2.5 - Norton Toolbar missing

For me it happens always, i.e I have not seen the Norton toolbar EVER on my Firefox....unlike IE where I see it always.

I tried starting in safe-mode, but still no success...

Re: Firefox 3.0 and Norton360 2.5 - Norton Toolbar missing

Hi menondilip,

Running Firefox in the Safe Mode will temporarily disable all the themes, setting, and extensions along with all add-ons. Therefore, Norton toolbar will not appear.

I tried to reproduce your reported issue and haven’t had any luck so far. What is the Operating System that you are experiencing this issue? XP or Vista?

Also, do you remember if you installed Norton Internet Security before or after you installed these Plugins/Add-ons?

Thanks,

Re: Firefox 3.0 and Norton360 2.5 - Norton Toolbar missing

Issue solved...don't ask me how!

I had some issues with my Firefox version, and so  had to create a new user profile. Once I did this, I saw that the tool bar had Norton.

So everything works...maybe the issue was with the profile. So if people have such issues in future, it would be a good idea to ask them to verify if a test profile is able to get the toolbar.

Thanks everyone for all the help.

Cheers
