As you can see from the subject line, this is not a Norton 360 problem, but I have goten only generic advice from Firefox, so I thought I would ask the experts here.
I am using Norton 360 v5, Firefox v8, Win7. Some websites in Firefox just load with the spinning wheel forever. If I copy the exact URL and open either Chrome or IE, the site loads immediatelyin those browsers. Clearly Firefox does not like something about the site load process, but I get no error messages. I have left it there as a test for three hours and the site never loaded or failed. I have also opened Firefox with all add-ons diasbled, and with javascript disabled, and I get the same results.
I will be glad to change to Chrome when the new version of 360 makes the 360 identity safe and toolbar work, but I use them both so much I am reluctant to switch now.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Neither 360 nor NIS have any HTTP-filter, so it shouldn't slow down the loading of webpages.
Can you give an example of a webpage that loads slowly in FF?

I use Kroger for prescription drug refills online. The main Kroger website is one that is either very slow or never finishes loading. Here is the URL

I am sure this problem is not related to Norton, I juest figure that the wizards here are a good source of information. I think it is a Firefox problem but I can't find it.

Hi Puzzledlook,
Do you occasionally turn off or reboot the computer, or is it left on all the time? If you haven't rebooted in a while, try doing so to flush the DNS cache or flush the cache using a command prompt, Also, the Kroger site has some Flash content - is that true of the other problematic sites as well?

Hmmm... I tried that page with Norton on or off, using Firefox, but it was quite snappy in both cases.

I'm thinking SoJ may have figured this one out: could be Puzzledlook needs to update Flash. There have been a bunch of updates released just recently--strikes me as even more than usual--so it's worth trying anyhow....

Thanks for all the adivce. I tried rebooting and clearing the cache, no help. I updated the Flash player to the latest 64bit version and it still does the slow load, sometimes even on sites like this one, Norton Support. It isn't critical, as I can always go to Chrome for any site I can't get to load with Firefox.

Unless I am mistaken, Firefox has not released an RTM 64-bit browser. If your FIrefox version is 32-bit, your Flash Player also needs to be 32-bit.

I believe when you download the 64 bit version it also includes the 32 bit version. In any case, the plug-in indicates that it is version 11.1.102.55 of Flash, which is the latest.
I used to run NoScript, which was a definite slo down. But I am not using that now.

Well, the 64-bit installer installs both the 32- and 64-bit versions so it doesn't matter in practice.
