Hi, can anyone assist please? An updated must have happend two nights ago, where possibly the firewall set-up or Traffic Rules have change and I cannot log onto some sites with passwords. I am also having trouble sending & forwarding emails from optus web emails.
Yesterday had same issue with banking, however managed to list site as a secured site & a trusted site and no longer have that issue. These other sites I am trying to use today do not have the succured site prefixes (https:). I'd appreciate your help. TL.

This is more likely a browser issue than a firewall issue. Do not attempt any firewall reconfigurations at this time as it may make troubleshooting this more difficult.
The sites with passwords are not https? What sites are these that you are asked to enter your credentials in the clear? Go into your Truted Sites settings: Internet Options >Security > Trusted Sites > Sites button. Make sure "Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone" is UNchecked.

Hi - the instruction you gave me, which should be unticked under the Restricted Sites, is this the same as 'Enable Protected Mode (requires restarting Internet Explorer)? Thanks.

There are a lot of threads about this error on the Microsoft forums. There are many variations and several different solutions offered. It definitely appears to be an Internet Explorer issue rather than a firewall problem. You may want to start with this thread and then check some of the others listed on the right side of the page, as it may take some research to narrow down the exact cause and cure for your particular circumstances:
