I have tried several times in and out of safe mode scanning my computer, it was only until about 3 weeks ago until I was able to complete full scans.
Computer > Program Files > Common Files > System > Ado > Msado15.dll
That is how far the scan gets, which is about 15 minutes into scanning, and then everything freezes up.
I checked on the file and it appears to be safe? it is also 952kb, not sure if that is normal everything else in that folder is not that big.
Would love some help, not a big computer tech person so if you need any info or something, I will try to post what I know I can post. ![]()
Thank You - Jessikitty

Please anyone? I also read up that Msado15.dll can get an error or corrupted, not sure if that is why it is freezing up my laptop during scans.

Please me know the results.

If muralisripada's suggestion does not fix it and you have Access 2000 maybe this would be worth looking at:

Watch out for more from Murali since the red means a Norton Staff member and I know they know more than I do!

You may have a physical problem with your hard drive. You should run chkdsk on your system drive.
Open My Computer and right click on your system drive (C:). Click on Properties, and then on the tools tab. Under Error Checking, click on Check Now, accepting any User Account Control prompts. Check both options to Automatically fix file system errors, and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors. Click on Start. As this is the system drive, you will need to reboot for the scan to start. The scan will start automatically when the computer restarts.
Try your Norton scan after the computer starts after the scan.
