Hello all,
I have set n360v6.1.1.8 to run a Full System scan every 7 days. I am at 9 days so far without the scan running.
Please see my settings below.
I was hoping to schedule a weekly scan when Idol like v5 performed automatically. Should I select weekly instead? If I select weekly, I then have to pick a time for the scan to run. What happens if I am using my computer at the specified time?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks, Dave.

Hi Dave,
Since you have selected "Only at idle time", Norton wont run the scan if you are using the computer at the same time. Did you leave the computer idle on the 7th day? Can you uncheck it and verify whether the Scan runs at the scheduled time? You may also try scheduling it in the Weekly basis.
Thanks,
HarryP

Hi Harry,
Thanks for your prompt reply.
Yes I have left my computer idol on the 7th day. I leave it idol for periods throughout every day. Also, It gets turned off everyday and started after some hours later. I will uncheck "Only at idol time", re-schedule a Full System Scan and post back here with the results.
Thanks, Dave.

Some other process in your computer was still running in the background, eventhough you left the computer as idle. That may be the reason why Norton didn't detect that idle state, didn't run the full system scan.
Thanks,

That does sound like a good theory, but after a couple of hours idol, my laptop should certainly have had time to reach an idol state. Could it perhaps be that n360simply hasn't registered the idol state?
I don't have a problem with changing the scan schedule, but I am concerned that a scheduled 7 day scan never ran. (I do realize the irony that I could simply have scheduled a "weekly" scan).
Could this be a bug with n360v6?
Thanks, Dave.

Can you check on to SEcurity History and see if the scan has run at the "Idle Time" or not?

Hi BarathSudharsh,
Yes I checked Security History and no the scan has not ran in Idol Time.

Was this the first time that your 'every 7 days' scheduled scan was due to run?
If so, then another possible explanation may be that although this scan had a specified schedule, it wasn't actually enabled so that it would run. Turning scheduled scans on or off is controlled by the Scans window that you see when you first open Custom Scans:

Hi elsewhere,
Yes this was the first scheduled 7 day scan. I checked your above suggestion and the scan is enabled. Thanks. A daily scheduled Full System Scan ran successfully yesterday as a test. Now the 7 day scan is re-scheduled.
I wonder if me manually running the scan a day or two early may have somehow upset the schedule? I will wait until after the next scheduled 7 day scan and see whether it runs this time.
Thanks, Dave.
