Norton 360

Hello,

i am having a very strange problem,and because i have allready tried almost everything (Norton Power Eraser / Norton Recovery Tool / Norton Customer Help Desk 0800...and Restore the LapTop<----Twice!) and failed to solve the problem,i wanted to write something in the Forum,for help,and since i dont know where to post,and not having the Time (and nerves) to search for it,i hoped that you will send me to the right place/desk etc.

The problem :

-my PC was behaving strange,but my N360 could not say why (no Virus or something else found)

-during a security scan,i watched the ScanWindow,wich shows,wich area of the pc or wich files are beeing scanned at the moment,Norton shows names of Trojans-Worms-Viruses-Ad/Malware (in the first 7000-8000 files of the scan) but does not see them as a risk or thread.

-at the end of the scan,Norton says : 0 risks detected - 0 risks solved

-every new scan = new names of Trojans-Worms-Viruses-Ad/Malware appear

-nothing changed,even after i restored/recovered my PC

-after restoring first thing i did was to download N360 and make scan - but all the same

-made scan with McAfee and Malwarebytes,nothing found !

-List of Trojans-Worms-Viruses-Ad/Malware and other unknown things ,noted during the scan of N360.

-while i wrote this message,i made testwise a new scan ,and see there,the newest names :W32.Looked.P  +  Adware.Hotbar

-(10 minutes later ) newest name in the List :Backdoor.Satancrew

-every new scan,a new name of a risk or thread appears.

What it appears you are looking at is the Quick Scan with Norton where Norton looks for sppecific threats and you see the name that Norton is looking for but does not find it.

So when you see Hacktool.Unreal.A  Norton is at that point in time looking for Hacktool.Unreal.A etc. 

The list is bigger, but depending on the speed that Norton is working you don't see all the names as it's too quick, so next time you instead see different names but not names you saw previously.    Some names may be added over time to the Quick Scan due to definition updates.

it does show the names on full system scan aswell,and i also thought like you,but what is the reason of the misbehavior of my laptop if there are no real threads ?

if someone that is nusing N360 could check this situation at their own PC and Confirm you,that would help me a lot.

The Full Scan does the same but then goes on to scan the files from A to Z so to speak.

You have already been given the correct answer.

As to the misbehavior of your laptop and "PC was behaving strange", thats anybody's guess since you do not provide more information.

The misbehavior of the LapTop :

- LapTop slowed down

- (often) unsual reports of low recources and high cpu use (under usual usage of the LapTop like in the past 1 ½ years)

- some icons of programs changed from original company icon to the "windows file" icon

- the Norton360 icon disappeared from systray

- when closing a program,program will not start anymore without to reset the LapTop

these are the main misbebahiviors i can report at the moment.Thx for Help sofar.
