Goggle homepage

Just wondering, if this has happen to any body else. Tried to sign in to Gmail
and to Google, had a warning sign come up, it said Microsoft does not recommend
this site because it is not save and it could harm your Computer?

Can any body check this out please. Norton 360 5.0 did not warned me about
it.

Thanks,

Re: Goggle homepage

Sometimes if you are going to view a secure website, the Internet explorer will show a security warning. You may have received that alert.

Please check the address and see whether it is like this "https://example.com".

If this is the case, there is nothing to worry.

Please let me know the status.

Re: Goggle homepage

I'm not able to open the page you gave me it tells me.

IE cannot Display the webpage.

Took a screenshot but not sure how to post it.

Re: Goggle homepage

All right. We can check whether this issue caused by an infection or not.

Please go to www.norton.com/virushelp and run the tool named Norton Power Eraser, which will detect and remove the infection.

Please let me know the status once it is done.

Re: Goggle homepage

Also I haven't mentioned to visit the link https://example.com, I just mentioned whether you see https://www.gmail.com or https://encrypted.google.com in the address bar when you visit the Google and Gmail

Re: Goggle homepage

GoogleWarning2.JPGI can go to Google but I cant sign in, when I try to sign in the warning comes up. I can sign in to Yahoo and Aol but not to Gmail and Igoogle. Right before this I checked my Email and every thing was fine.

Scanned the PC with MBAM and SAS  and every thing is fine. Same in Norton.

Re: Goggle homepage

Not sure if this was smart or not but this is what I did.

Turned of Smart Screen Filter (Microsoft) Have the Norton Tool bar and I had Norton Check the website and it was fine.

After this I sign in to HTTPS://mail.Google...... and every thing is working fine.

What should I do now? Leave Microsoft Smart Screen Filter unchecked?

This really got me a kind of upset, never ever did this happen to me before.

Thank you for trying to help me.

Re: Goggle homepage

It's maybe a typo in the topic title, but goggle is (or used to be) a malicious site. I heard about it some years ago and have not heard about it since. I'm not sure, but I think it was goggle.com.

Re: Goggle homepage

Hi Nanaha,

This can happen if some Add-Ons are enabled like Microsoft Smart Screen Filter.

In this case you can uncheck that. Not a problem by disabling that.
