Somehow I've recently encountered the Google redirect virus on my computer.
I've got Norton 360 & have run a complete system scan. It found some minor threats & removed them.
However, the redirect virus remains because I continue to encounter it.
I've got Windows Vista if that makes any difference to you answering my questions.
Thanks in advance for the assistance!

Hi Byrd4LSU
Welcome to the Norton Community
I would suggest you run malwarebytes to try to clear this up.
Go to www.malwarebytes.com to download the free version. Install and update it then run a full scan.

Thanks for the advice. I installed it & ran a full scan. It found 2 threats & I removed both of them. However, the redirect virus still exists when doing Google searches.
What else should I try?
Thanks!

Hi Byrd4LSU
Since this is often associated with TDL3 Rootkits I would visit www.malwarebytes.com and log it with them for removal assistance. Ensure that you put the issue you have in the title of the post you make with them.
What were the items removed? Could you post the MBAM log here using the "add attachments" link.

MBAM log is attached.
Does it make a difference that I'm getting this redirect virus in Firefox? I rarely use IE.
Thanks for the help!

There are Malware now like the TDL group (Backdoor.Tidserv) that doesn't give a monkey's which browser with the redirects, IE, Firefix, Chrome, I have had Chrome not redirect but with the PC infected Chrome can't get any website or even the "Tabs" page open.

It appears that the redirect virus is only related to Firefox on my computer. I've done a dozen different Google searches using IE & haven't had an issue. But I continue to get it almost every time using Firefox.
