my error . . . it is not Groupon, but rather http://www.dropinsavings.com/  

I have accessed the web site and have done everything they say to remove the Plugin . . . however in Firefox and Windows the Plugin/Programs is not identifed under their name.

Any help on how to get rid of it would be most appreciated.

Try this. Download, install, update and run from the desktop Malwarebytes free scanner found here:

http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free It's Norton compatible so keep it around and run it every week or so as added protection.

somehow or other this plugin got installed on my computer.  I have gone to the below web site and followed the instructions on how to uninstall--however, none of the instructions work.

I notice that dickevans recommended the free version of Malwarebytes Ant-Malware to try.  How did you go with this?  You might also try the free version of http://www.superantispyware.com/
