I have Norton 360 v5.0. My system apparently also has the Hacktool:Win32/Keygen trojan. Microsoft Security Essentials has identified the trojan, but is of no use to get rid of it. Norton 360 and Norton Power Eraser do not even identify the virus. I discovered it, because the trojan keeps knocking Norton's firewalls and e-mail scanners off-line. Does anyone know of a solution, either in or out of Norton, about this bug? It's a nasty one. Thanks for any help you can provide. Dave

Welcome to our community. For future reference, running a second security product (like Microsoft Security Essentials) that has real-time functions actually reduces your system's security, because the two products will interfere with each other's operation. This could be what opened the hole that allowed this nasty in.
As to the infection itself, not entirely unexpected. Some of these can be persistent buggers.
At this point, it is best to refer you to the recommended forums, where a real malware expert can work with you one-on-one in real time using more sophisticated tools and methods to dig these things out. Some of our best folks here have checked them out to make sure that they are capable, and competent to deal with rootkits and other nasties. Most of them handle tricky Windows problems as well.
Just sign up for one of their free accounts--where required--and go to the forums; don't click on any of the ads! Note that some of these forums (like bleepingcomputer) require that once they begin working with you, you not consult any other sources on your infection until it's resolved--and will close your case if you do. This is important, to avoid confusion (and really bad outcomes) resulting from trying to follow several people's advice at once! LOL
Good luck, and please let us know how it turns out!
