The Norton I had with my new computer expired so I purchased Norton 360..an upgrade. I did uninstall the Norton that came with my computer first. I installed and actived 360 last week. Ever since then we keep getting the error "Your PC is not protected by SONAR Advanced Protection" on the status bar. Everything else registers fine. I run "Live Update" it comes back with No problems. We have uninstalled and reinstalled, restarted computer 5X now. It works for a while then out again! Any ideas???

Did you check this thread?

Are you getting the same error numbers? It was giving me an error with SONAR as well, but I ended up fixing it. Look at the very last post.

Hi Bostelj,
Could you please run live update until shows "Your Norton Product has latest updates" and restart your system whenever it requires.
Check the system date/time with current date/time and change it if it was not set to current date/time.
Thanks,
Senthil

Yes, I saw your post. Where do I find the Clean up utility and the CCleaner on my computer. I'll try this.

SENTHILLKUMAR: This has also been done several times. I run live update until I see it say you have the latest updates, I reboot, it says we are protected for a while then kicks off again and I have to begin the whole process over.

The Norton Removal Tool is at this URL:
For CCleaner, go to download.com and search for it there. It's a free tool to clean junk on your machine. Been using it for many years with great success. The registry clean up part is what fixed my issue.

Tried the suggestions...still not working. Uninstalled, reboot, used teh C Cleaner to scan my registery (didn't buy it..justed used the basic), reboot, reinstalled. Within 10 minutes it began to run "looking for ONE CLICK SUPPORT UPDATES" it runs the updates then gives me the following ERRORS: ERROR 3039, 69638. what next?

I tried to download the Norton Removal Tool from this link:
ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/re
But, that web page doesn't seem to be available right now.
