Hello strauss
Welcome to the Norton Users Discussion Forum
Can you please tell us which Norton product you have and the version number? Also what operating system and service pack? Can you also tell us where it is being found in your computer. Thanks

Hello strauss
I am suspecting that it was found in a game folder perhaps Age of Empires 2. Please submit the file for further analysis to see if perhaps it is a false positive. Please follow the instructions from this link.
Please use this link if you think that a file is a false positive:
https://submit.symantec.com/dispute/
If there is a possibility that the file might be infected, please submit it to Symantec using this link:

Another alternative which is fast you can use Threat Expert:

(Thanks to Yaso for providing the links)
Please come back and let us know the results of doing this. Thanks

Looking at a couple of the bleepingcomputer removals, Mythxpax.exe seems to be associated with various rootkits.
Please head over to www.bleepingcomputer.com, register there and start a new thread with the subject line "MYTHXPAX.exe Infection" or something similar. Allow them to help you, and in the mean time do not do anything else, as if you do they might refuse to help you.
I am not 100% certain that you have a rootkit, but it is not worth the risk, so head over to them and please let us know what happens, or give us a link to your thread so we can see. Would be nice to know if this thing is a definitive rootkit associate or not.
Thanks,
Matt
