How long would it take to restore about 2GB of data from Norton 360 online backup?

How long?

2GB shouldn't take too long, a few minutes with a fast connection and very little traffic on the Internet. What has been your experience? And, what are the details of your system - they will have a lot to do with how fast things move

So far it's been running about 5 hours...

It shows progress at 100% but it's still running...??

I'm about to throw in the towel.

My system info:

Windows XP SP3
Intel Pentium 4 cpu
2.80 GHz, 760 MB of Ram

Before you start throwing anything please try this. Use the Norton Removal Tool and clean out all of the bits and pieces. After rebooting do a fresh install. Your RAM figure looks a bit low - any chance you could add a GB or 2?

Well I finally did it! My backup was restored. I think I do need a few more GBs of RAM but I've got to make do a little while longer. Thanks for the help!

One suggestion you might try - when you need to backup or restore turn off everything that you don't really have to have in memory, running, etc. This should help your speed and reliability until you can get those extra GBs installed. If you need help sorting out what you can turn off let us know.
