How to autolog in , after initially refusing?

My autologin works for lots of websites. But one in particular, not so.

How do I set up an auto login if it is not present (presumably refused at the first opportunity)?

Specifically, for this web address:

http://db.sailor.lib.md.us/db/hqo

I must always type in a long sequence.

Hi jbnimble,

These instructions are for n360 v6.

With a browser open and while logged in to Identity Safe,  click Identity Safe > Options > Edit Logins.  Along the top is an option to Create A New Login.

I hope this helps.

Dave.

Hi,

I'm not sure that you will be able to use identity safe on that one.

I think identity safe looks for the username / password combination in order to save and use entries to the sites you visit.

Maybe one of the more expert helpers here can provide you with a way to do it.

Re: How to autolog in , after initially refusing?

Thanks for the replies.

I have 360 version 5.2.0.13.

And Firefox 10.0.2.

I don't find anything about Identity Safe inside Firefox.

I find Identity Safe in a Norton 360 panel, but don't see how to implement an addition to it.

Do you have the Norton Toolbar?

If not,  please open Firefox > Addons > Extensions.  You should see Norton Toolbar and Norton Vulnerability Protection.  Enable both and restart Firefox.

Let us know how you get on.

You are entitled to upgrade for free to v6 while you have a current subscription.  If you would like to upgrade,  export your ID safe,  instructions are here.  Then open N360 and click Support > Check for New Version and follow the directions.

Thanks,  Dave.

Re: How to autolog in , after initially refusing?

OK, now I have the Norton Toolbar. It shows a Search box, Safe Web, and Identity Safe.

I still do not get an option to save the password for the link I showed in my first post of this thread.

And the link to save ID safe settings is for Norton Security, not 360. I don't see the same options in 360, so I won't upgrade until I get the first issue resolved (or I give up).

Re: How to autolog in , after initially refusing?

Hi,

The link you provided doesn't look like a login field which identity safe can auto-login. It only has one text box field to enter the bar code number and it wouldn't prompt you for any password either in this page or in the corresponding navigation page. So identity safe would not support this URL.

Regards,

Prasana

I am quite certain that on a previous computer with Norton 360, SOMETHING was filling in my password for the link I provided in the initial post of this thread.  And I can't imagine what it was, if not 360.

In Firefox, a cookie may have been filling in the library card number. N360 can be removing the cookie as part of its regular scans.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Identity Safe data.
