Hello,
every time i try to rename my "Norton 360 Premier Edition" icon to something else, it just reverts back to "Norton 360 Premier Edition" I am trying to rename it to just plain "Norton 360" because i feel with the "Premier Edition" added on it makes it too cluttered. I would appreciate something on how to get this done.

The first solution that comes to mind is to create a new short cut and name it what you want. Right click your misbehaving short cut, go to properties and choose "Open File Location", then right click the file, choose create short cut and drag it to your Desktop and rename it. Delete the original short cut.

I think the real shortcut location is in the "All users\Desktop" folder.
Try renaming it there rather then just on "your" desktop.

To the first reply, i have tried your solution already to no avail, and to the second poster about the all users folder, what is the path for that?
Thanks

And by path i mean C:\xxx\xxx\xxx\All Users\Desktop

It depends on what version of windows.
In XP it is:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop
In Windows 7 I think it is:
C:\Users\Public\Desktop
(Im not at windows 7 system at the moment).
If you find the shortcut in one of those locations, thats the real location of the shortcut and every user on the system shares them.

OK Thanks! Found the shortcut there in C:\Users\Public\Desktop tried to rename it it just renamed back... But when i created another shortcut of the uistub.exe, and tried to rename it to "Norton 360" it said "There is already a file with the same name in this location" meaning the other file that keeps renaming itself is actually, in the system's eyes named "Norton 360" not "Norton 360 Premier Edition" but it shows up as "Norton 360 Premier Edition" WTF is this?? Some sort of registry error/bug on Norton's part.
