Identity Safe not working with latest IE9 x-64 Updates

Windows update downloded a Cumulative Security Update for IE9 for Vista x-64 systems (KB2647516) and I have lost my Identitiy Safe functionality.

 

I run Norton 360 and have tried the suggested update to 360 6.0 with no success. I have checked that the add-on is enabled and it is.

 

Any suggestions?

Welcome to Norton Community Forum!

 

Are you usinig IE9 32-bit or IE9 64-bit?

The Identity safe and toolbar is compatible & work with only 32-bit of Internet Explorer.

 

If you are facing the problem with IE9 32-bit, let us know whether you can see the Identity Safe toolbar in the browser. If so, you may need to configure the Identity safe settings to autofill the logins for the desired Web sites.

Hi Yogesh, and thanks for the welcome.

 

I have Vista 64 bit - and have been on this system for a number of years - it seems that the IE9 update that was downloaded this week is the culprit?

 

Is there any work being done to fix the issue?

It would be good if you can provide info on what type of browser you use - IE 9 32-bit or 64-bit.

Internet Explorer (32-bit)
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"
Internet Explorer (64-bit)
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"

 

Please check and confirm if the issue persists in IE 32-bit. If so, run LiveUpdate repeatedly until you get all the available updates. Then restart the computer and check again.

I have both 32 and 64 bit versions of IE and the problem exists on both.

 

I have run update and there are no further updates available. I have restarted my computer - all to no avail.

 

As a last resort I am inclined to restore my computer to a point prior to the latest IE9 update.

Hi,

 

Can you please check if the toolbar is visible after enabling it from the addons? If not visible even after enabling from addons, you need to do the below:

 

1. Right click on the Menu bar area and select Norton Toolbar from the list of the addons shown there

2. If that does not work, goto Tools->Internet Options->Advanced->Browsing ; check the box against "Enable third party browser extensions" from that list and then close and reopen the browser once and check.
