I installed Norton 360 over the weekend to replace my last Internet Security - A/V software that expired. I must say that first impression is I am disappointed on how much it has SLOWED DOWN Firefox (my preferred browser).
Here are the issues I am seeing....
Right now my 360 installation is running at all default settings. Is there anything that can be tweeked to cure these annoying slowdown issues?
I run a large social network so I LIVE on the internet and these delays are unexceptable. I had no problems like this with my previous security - a/v software but switched on the recommendation of a friend, plus I liked the multi-computer pricing Norton offered. However if this is the NORM operation I can expect from the Norton product I will have no choice but to switch back.
Any and all input is appreciated!!!

What was the previous security AV software, and how did you remove it. If it was not a Norton product, you should run the removal utility for that program to remove all traces of it. If left on the computer, it can conflict with Norton.

I was running Webroot before Norton. Used the uninstall and have since check for remaining files, processes and services. Doesn't seam to be any files left or anything still running???

Just to be sure Webroot is removed, follow the instructions to use the Webroot CleanWDF.exe found here.
Then download and run the Norton Removal and Reinstall tool from here.
Be sure to backup/export your Identity Safe data if you use that feature.
Also, be sure to run LiveUpdate manually a few times, rebooting as necessary, until no updates are available.
Then import your Identity Safe data.
Let us know if this helps.

I did use the Webroot removal tool already but did not re-install Norton afterwords. I will try that in the morning... Thanks.

Reinstalling Norton after the complete cleanup of Webroot seemed to take care of it. Thanks!!!!!!

Glad you found the solution.
Even after uninstalling a different security program, it can leave remnants behind in case you want to re install. These often cause the problems we see here.
