Good morning Norton Community! I would just like to ask, is it normal for the Norton 360 interface to change colors? What I mean by this is that when I first downloaded Norton (I'm on a trial, this is my first Norton product), the interface was jet black. Now, sometimes its see-through. Like, it's still black, but clearly see-through so you can see my picture background. I was sorta confused if this is normal. This is only happening with the main interface, like when I run LiveUpdate, that interface is jet black but the main one is still see-through. Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm kinda new to Norton products and have a lot to learn. I'm very sure that I'm going to renew my subscription because from what I've seen, Norton is an excellent product. Any help would be great appreciated. Thanks!

Hi,
Yours is not a stupid question. The transparence of the various screens may be different. I haven't seen it but then I don't keep the program screen on the desktop all that much.
Glad to hear that you like the product. Do visit often and become an active member of the community. Only those who display their screen name in bold red letters are employees of Symantec/Norton. The rest of us are user / volunteers.
Again, welcome

I believe that transparency comes from a Windows function -- is it called Aero? -- that you can disable if you want to.
It does use resources for pretty pretty so if your computer is marginal you may want to check Windows settings for how you turn it on or off.
In WIndows 7 you can deal with it at:
Control Panel \ All Control Panel Items \ Personalization
by selecting a Theme that is not in the Aero group.

Thank you very much, I'm glad to be here. Yes, I understand, it's kinda like some of the other forums I've been to. They make Admins and Mods with a bright red color logo. Thanks again for the kind welcome, have a great day! :)

Thanks Hugh, yes I do have an Aero theme. I believe that yes, that's it. It just hit me, when I hit "Classic theme" the interface was jet black, but when I hit Aero/Windows 7 theme, it was transparent. At that time, I didn't pay attention to it but now it makes sense! Thanks again for the informative response!
