Hello, I was on Facebook. I Clicked on a Link (Yes I Now Stupid.But Ya No :L) a Pop Up Arreaped.I Closed this Happened 3 Times.. I Then Closed my Browser (IE9) I then got 3 Norton Alerts Saying that its Blocked 3 Attacks. I Ran Norton Power Eraser. Nothing was Found. Now my Touch pad is Not working and I Kept getting IPS Statistical Submission, Before I ran the Power eraser. Is They anything to Worry About, or should I just keep an eye out for any suspicious activity on my Laptop?

I understand that the Norotn Power Eraser is a very powerful tool that is best used by running it but getting advice on what to do with the results! It can remove necessary bits of the system and that might include the driver for the touchpad.

I suggest lookin Device Manager -- if you don't know how to get to that tell us what version of Windows you have -- for flags against entries, in this case I don't know whether it comes under Human Interface Devices or under Mouse or ....

If you find any, double click on the entry to get to Properties and look on the Drivers TAB -- there are various buttons for finding and updating drivers ....

CHeck tosee if anyone has any specifics about malware.

If you go to Norton History and then Intrusion/IPS logs and see what they say, thier you will see if Norton IPS blocked these 3 attacks, came from your computer or internet, can you please post these logs her on this thread, if possible.

And norton power eraser is a very powerfull tool, and should be used with great caution.

You can try Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to scan your computer for threats, it plays very nice with Norton products.

Hello. This threats came from The Internet. And the touchpad is now working Thanks :). They blocked all 3 attacks. But I'll keep a eye out for any unknown files and suspicious activity.

Glad to hear that -- did you have to do anything or was it just rebooting the PC?

Just a Reboot. Something I forgot to add. One attack was sent directly from a IP Address would you like me to sate the ip address?

You may also wish to double-check your system with a second product.   Some people in the forum also recommend occasionally checking with a second-opinion software, such as the free versions of MalwareBytes AntiMalware or SuperAntiSpyware.  If you decide to do that, just be sure and get the software from a legitimate and reliable source.  The software is free to run as an on-demand scanner.   The on-demand mode should not conflict with NIS.  You could get into conflicts if you try to run them in realtime protective mode, however, since most people recommend not having 2 realtime resident AV/Antimalware programs running.  Some folks use NIS as their fulltime resident program, then occasionally, such as every week or two, run one of the above in the on-demand mode to double-check their systems.

I'll try Malwarebytes and I use N360. I have not noticed anything suspicious other then lagg in sims 3 I never had before maybe am just being picky
