Language BIG problem

Hi everyone

I have a very serious problem and i cannot solve it. I am from Greece and i have norton 360 in greek. Today i saw that there was a new version v6 and i said to download it. When i did this the language became ARABIC!!!!

I was very dissapointed and because i am very stubborn i tried to fix it alone. i did system restoration so as to bring back my old vesion. However the result was bad again because i couldn t open norton.. it was stuck!!!

Finally i used the cd which i had with the norton 360 version 5 with greek language so as to remove this situation. Now i have this version which is older than the version which i had before i try the update. i am afraid to make the update again because of the arabic language. What to do? i want greek language.

thanks for reading my message and sorry for my english

Welcome,
I'm not sure this link will work but for the previous version in Greek it was  www.norton.com/gr/nav 12

If they are consistant then the link to the new version should be  www.norton.con/gr/nav 20

Please disregard the links above - wrong product :smileysad: Better advice provided below :smileywink:

The big jump in numbers is due to a change in the way the products and versions are being released  and identified

Hope this helps

Keep us posted

Re: Language BIG problem

Are you located in Greece? If you are in another part of the world when you try to update your product, it may pick up the local language version.

You could contact Norton Support via online chat. They should be able to steer your to the  correct download.

You can find them at www.norton.com/chat

Let us know how you make out.

Re: Language BIG problem

Hi Pao,

I'm sorry you are having a problem -- the language that shows up on your computer screen after installation depends on downloading the installation version from the correct location, in your case the Greece site which I think begins at:

http://gr.norton.com/360/

Unfortunately I only did Latin in school so I can't read Greek and clicking on what I though would be the right links from their location on the screen did not help.

Firstly are you happy that you now have a copy of Nrotn 360 V6 (the 2012 version from last spring) properly installed and updated with Live Update to the current version? Unfortunately I don't have that version of Norton 360 installed so I can't check what it should be. Please click on Support / About and give us the Version ID which is in the format of nn.nn.nn.nnn  where n is a number.

If you are current with the last update of V6 I would recommend staying with it for a while since there always things that come up for a while after a major new version is released and dealing with Identity Safe is a major one -- do you use that? Did you back up the data file for it before your recent problem?

There are two versions of Norton 360 -- Standard with 2GB of free online storage and Premier  with 25GB of free online storage and we need to know which you have.

Re: Language BIG problem

Dick,

Two problems

-- OP needs Norotn 360 but hasn't said Standard or Premier

-- there's a typo in your second link with con instead of com but even adapting that to N360s_20 gives me we can't get there from here so maybe the Greek version of V20 is not out yet.

So I think he should stick with 2012 V6 for now.

Re: Language BIG problem

Hi again

I am in Greece, everything in my computer is in greek. I bought the norton 360 v5 with greek language.

When i search for a new product it appears to me norton 360 v6. i download the file and when i open it it starts to load with arabic language. i stop the loading because i know that the result will be a norton 360 v6 in arabic language.

How to download the version with greek language?

If i download a  trial version of norton 360 v6 in greek, then can i activate the product with the key which i already have from my previous version and to have the same number of days as i had?

It sounds like you found a work around, by using the trial.

If you contact Support by online chat, they may be able to find and adjust some setting that will allow you to upgrade to the correct language in the future.

Please let us know if they can help.

Re: Language BIG problem

Pao,

<< If i download a trial version of norton 360 v6 in greek, then can i activate the product with the key which i already have from my previous version and to have the same number of days as i had? >>

That should work since it is the download that determines the language, as I said earlier, and not the KEY.

Please let us know how you get on -- it's just possible that the 2013 (v20) of N 360 is not released yet so if you still have a problem then contact your local area service via the CHAT route.

But I still recommend you stick with 2012 for a while yet.

Re: Language BIG problem

Hi everyone again

Everything is fine now.I used the support live chat as you told me.They helped me to fix it. I have to tell you that the live chat support is a very good option if you have problem. they helped me a lot and i am happy again:smileyvery-happy:

Now to inform you about what we did. The employee saw that i was right the language was changing when i was running the file which i had downloaded for the new norton.

We simply downloaded the trial version which was in greek language and then i had the new norton in greek. However i thought that is maybe only  a trial, but then i saw that i had the same days which remains until the end of my subscription.

Thank you all for the help and sorry for my english

Best regards from Greece
