Level Quality Watcher

I hope someone can help me.

I am running Windows XP and somewhere along the line I have been infected with a malware called "Level Quality Watcher".  I cannot remove it when I go into "Control Panel" as there is no 'Remove' button.  I have run Nortons Power Eraser and cleaned my registry with Nortons Utilities to no avail.  In adition I have also run Malwarebytes Pro with no luck.

It does not appear to do anything (that I am aware of).  It is just annoying that I cannot remove it from my system

Re: Level Quality Watcher

Hi phwatt

Try one of the free malware removal sites below.

It is important that you do no more to your computer to try and fix the problem as it can remove data that the malware specialist will need to find.  Pick one and stick with who you get until they have confirmed your computer is clear of infections.

Hi,

You said you ran malwarebytes PRO. If you are running two active scanners on your system you could be less protected than if you only run one. They are trying to do the same thing and often in the same places. That conflict can allow 'nasties' to enter.

The suggestion that you visit one of the free malware removal forums is a good one. Their trained staff of volunteers can walk you through the clean up process.

Re: Level Quality Watcher

phwatt,

I had the same issue and it was a nuisance to say the least.  If you're still have the issue with ‘Level Quality Watcher’ here's how I got rid of it.  Please accept my appologies for over simplified steps as I don't know the level of technical expertise anyone reading this.  I tried to make this a breeze for novices as well as the more technically savvy.

Levelqualitywatcher installs service (admin privileges) so you’ll need to be logged as full admin for the following removal steps:

1] Log in as local administrator (admin)

2] Goto Windows Start Button, type ‘Services.Msc’ in the run line (omit the single quotes.)

3] You'll a window displaying available services on your system. Scroll down and right click on the service titled ‘Level Quality Watcher’.

4] Choose ‘Properties’ from the menu and change Startup type: to Disabled and you're done here.

Registry settings:

5] Type regedit from Windows Start Button

6] I navigated to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

                                                                             \SYSTEM

                                                                                              \ControlSet001

                                                                                                                       \services

                                                                                                                                      \Level Quality Watcher

7] Delete the ‘Level Quality Watcher’ key

8] Delete the folder \Level Quality Watcher  located in \Program Files (not \Program Files (x86)

Good luck.
