we understand how you feels having to works around the clock getting problems solve but in the end only disappointment and frustration applied, everyone here is trying to help solving the problem and some problem really needs time to narrow down the roots for troubleshooting, just give them some more time so that they can really solve it with both you and norton end up with double win.

So. You work for Norton? That is about the exact same thing I was told last time. In the mean time...am I protected? I don't know if you understand what I am trying to say. This has been going on since December. I have given it time. I am frustrated. I DO understand everyone is working hard on a fix. Could we not just be upgraded to something that does work? I can't even download AutoFix.
I need my computer to work. I paid for protection I am not getting and I need to be able to communicate with my son's. One of them is sitting on a mountain protecting our rights with no other way to communicate with me. I have no way to guarantee I won't pass something to their computers through mine and I don't want to have to hesitate when it could be our last communication between us for weeks or months or possibly ever. So please don't try and pacify me with the fact that you understand. And please try to make sense next time or get someone else to write the response. You are probably a very nice person but I didn't need the further aggravation of a confusing reply.

Hi rocko0902,
I'm really sorry to know about the problems that you are facing with LiveUpdate. Can you try the steps mentioned in the following support article.
In one of the articles, there is a tool to download and install the latest version of LiveUpdate. Please give it a try.
Let us know how it goes.
If the problem still persists, perform the following steps:
1. Click Start>Run
2. Type Luall
3. When the LiveUpdate window appears, Click the Next button to continue.
4. In the end, you will have the LiveUpdate window, show a descriptive error code (for example LU 1814 or LU 1845)
5. Let us know the error code
We will do what best we can to help you here.
Thanks,

I did like you said.
1. I can't open live update anywhere to do most of those things. It says The LiveUpdate control panel applet could not access LiveUpdate Settings information. Error Code: 0x00000000.
2. If I try and run liveupdate I get the same error. Operation Failed
I uninstalled and reinstalled again today. I can not get the LU code anywhere.
Thank you

Hi, rocko0902! I noticed earlier in this thread that you said Control Panel would not even open. Are you able to use Windows Update? It sounds like the Norton isn't even getting a chance to open due to an OS problem. Has anyone worked on that angle with you? In my experience, there is an underlying Windows problem for these types of issues, especially considering that you've reinstalled Norton cleanly (right?) several times.
Hang in there!

Hi all,
There is a fix released for this issue. I suggest you all to download and install the latest version of LiveUpdate. Please perform the steps mentioned in the Knowledge Base document Error: "Operation failed" when you run LiveUpdate in Norton 360 2.0 . Please let us know how it goes....

This worked great for me:
step 1. go to your control panel/classic view/symantec live update/ open it then general tap look for error support level, change to ENHANCED click ok step2. Click Start> Run
In the Run dialogue box, type luall and then click OK and run the update, if the problem unsolve try to wait for 1 to 2 day then run live update
Thanks Dazhumon!
