After holding for nearly two hours, I finally talked to a nice lady, she had me to un-install and reinstall Norton 360, and I still have 125 days left before renewal.
Now I can’t even access anything from chrome, I updated it, uninstalled and reinstalled it, but still don’t work. I changed my default browser to IE9 and I can get on the internet from there, but Norton tries to and comes back with “ no response received from the Symantec server”
I have waited for three days for someone to call me back, I did get a call back the first night and I couldn't’t get to the phone and my computer because I am paralyzed, I explained that to the first girl, but still the call came in after I was already in bed. I am running windows 7 64 bit quad core computer with 8 megs ram. I need help please!

BDK,
I'm sorry for your problems -- I've flagged it for help and also because Norton does not want case numbers in public messages.
I've asked my helper colleagues who have experience with N 360 to jump in and asked a moderator to deal with the case number; You might get a private message so watch that
up in the top right. If it turns yellow it means you have a private message and should click on it to get to those.
Don't worrry about the subscription days -- you will not have lost them.
Is your Norton 360 working now or are you without protection?
It may help others to help you if you can give us some more information about your system:
What version of Windows are you using including Service Packs and whether 32 bit or 64 bit as well as the Name and Version ID of the Norton product that you are using -- Help or Support / About is where that is, in the format of nn.nn.nn.nnn where n is a number.
If you have the COMCAST version of Norton 360 / Security Suite and not the normal retail version please be sure to tell us.
If you get any error messages please give the exact wording of them as well as any other background that could be helpful
Please also say what internet browser you are using -- name and version number ...
Did you have any other security programs installed before you installed Norton 360, or alongside it now? If so what?

That's what we did on the phone we used the Norton RnR tool, but she had to go while I was being downloaded, so I followed her instructions to the t, but it will not connect to Norton to activate it, it really has things screwed up big now... Thanks again, BDK59

I think all of that info is just above this message, I'm Running Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit
AMD Phemon(tm) 9950 Quad core 2.61 GHz 8 GB ram.
Golly I don't know but I'm afraid that I'm online without any protection, but not sure I certainly hope not.
Norton 360 ver 6.3.0.14
My Google Chrome is ver. 21.0.1180.79; it will not load at all...
Thanks for any help that you can provide. I have everything on my computer and I’m afraid of it crashing and losing everything,
I took several screen shots of what was happening, but it wouldn't let me ;load them, they were in .PNG format so I converted them to .jpgs and it still wouldn't let me load them either, If you have an email address that I can send them to, let me know and I gladly will.
I gotta roll, my night time attendant is here to put me to bed, but I'll be back up at about 2:00 PM CDT tomorrow.
Thank you for your attempt to help, BDK

BDK,
I've asked for some help since I'm running out of steam .... Did you check the Private Message section in case one of the Norton Staff has sent you a message?
When you finished of the downloading that Support started and did the installing did that seem to go OK -- you end up with a version of Norton 360 installed that looks normal but may only have a few days left of the trial installation you get until you can activate.
You say you cannot activate it but can you get onto the internet OK ? Are you using this machine for coming here?
Have you tried running Live Update on N 360 and then doing a Quick Scan? These would help show if the only problem is getting you activated.
You mention Chrome not working -- there are problems with that browser; can you use something else at least until the activation is sorted out. You mentioned NIP and the penny did not drop. That's where the conflict is and if you disable that element in wherever Chrome handles Add-ons you should be OK as a workaround. You can leave theActual Toolbar if it is seperate from the IP as it is in Internet Explorer and you can leave the Vulnerability Protection both Enabled.
If you can let us know about these questions ....
If we need some direct help from Norton again I think we should use the OnLine CHAT system which uses the computer keyboard if you feel you can handle it -- it should be OK for you since you type in a box and when you are ready you send it and then the answer comes down in writing and they wait for you .... Should be no pressure.

I can't do a live update it says that it can't connect to the internet, I can using IE9 but chrome will not connect at all.
I started out using online chat, but every time I would send him anything, he would send me back links that had nothing to do with what I was telling him the problem was. His response was as soon as I sent a message, then before anyone could read it he sent back a bunch of crap that had nothing to do with my problem.
I have tried to run NRnR but it will not work either, saying it can't connect to the internet.
Thank you for your attempt to help, but I've given up on Norton. I am going to uninstall Norton completely and go with a product that will at least talk to me!
Thanks again,
Boyd
