Dear Community..
I turned on my laptop this morning and was greeted with the 'red' security shield and a message saying, "Norton360 is turned off". I brought up the Norton interface and the security pane was in red. I clicked on it and then, "fix now"
It gave me a list of issues that could not be fixed. So, for the 3rd or 4th time now I ran the Norton remove and re-install.
Any ideas why this keeps happening??
Here are some screen shots to illustrate.
Thanks you everyone.

Windows XP Home Edition SP3, Pentium 4 CPU, Norton 360 v. 20.2.0.19
Hi,
I am having a similar problem.
I left my PC for several hours yesterday and when I returned I found that Norton icon was red and a message saying that my computer was at risk as Norton was turned off. Tried clicking on the icon and it would not open. Shut the PC down.
When I started up this morning icon was still red and Windows security alert telling me that Norton is switched off. Then screen locked up and I had to switch PC off on main power switch.
When I restarted PC Norton is working again.
I am getting really fed up with Norton and the ongoing problems since the latest update.
It is still hanging when I try to shutdown and just recently my Identity Safe Vault is closing itself when the settings are not calling for it to do so.
Will somebody from Norton please sort this out or I for one will not be renewing my subscription.
Pleas do not just tell me to use the Remove and Re-install option.
Users should not be having to do that to get over problems caused by Norton!

Hi waynedegu,
Can I assume you have already checked your system time and date and verify your Subscriptioon status as was done the first time this happened? If not please do and verify all is ok in that area.
Also, please remind us whicih version of N 360 you are running (Support > About), (once again I will assume you are on v ersion 20.2.0.19 since you used the RNRT) your operating system and also browser (and version) of choice, as well as online or local vault.
I understand you ran the Remove and reinstall tool already, so after you verfy time and date and subscription status, it appears we may have to do some deeper cleaning. If all above is verifed as correct. we'll do a clean install of N 360 - please tell us if you are using the Standard or the Premiere edition of N 360, so we can get the correct download for you.

Hi Pixma,
Since you desire help from Norton on your siutation, you can contact Live chat, explain the situation to them and they should be able to assist you. Perhaps a remote into your system would be more helpful with them being able to see what is going on with your system than with us trying to troublshoot wihout seeing what is going on.

Exact same problem, Can get it to work if in safe mode but says nothing wrong, but get IE error message during scan. When click on either send or don't send, 360 shuts down. If I don't send IE notice, 360 keeps running and when finished says nothing wrong. Had probnlem since 12/4. This is the only place I've seen this problem mentioned. Don't want "help" but want Norton to fix the problem, with their product.

OK, thanks for the info, looks like a clean install of N 360 is the next logical step:
If you use Identity Safe for your Logins, please back it up (export) the data so it can be Restored (Imported) after you install a fresh copy of N 360.
Please remove the copy of N 360 you have installed, using the Control Panel uninstall via Add/Remove or Programs & Features. Reboot.
Download and run the Norton Remvoal Tool and reboot after it is completed. The NRT can be found here: https://www-secure.symantec.com/norton-support/jsp
Download a fresh copy and install:
www.norton.com/n360s_6 (Standard Edition)
Once installation is complete, open N 360 and manually Run LiveUpdate as many times as necessary for it to respond "no more updates found". If a reboot is requested, reboot and then continue to Run LiveUpdate until it responds "no more updates found" and then reboot one last time.
Once totally updated, don't forget to Restore/Import your ID Safe data, if not already present.
Please keep us posted.
