Hi I made a post regarding norton insight, 3 days ago on the 22/12, basically asking why norton insight tells me a files is bad when a scan shows it as clean.
Anyway today I logged back in to see if there were any replies, and my post isnt available. I checked my profile and it also says 0post count.
Can someone tell me why it was deleted.
I did read the FAQ regarding this question, and apparently the rating is from community feedback and pc's that have been infected. I think.
So Im trying to figure out why it rates as bad when the scan says otherwise, could it be that the file rates & scans clean until its installed.
for example I downloaded a keylogger applications from its website, which protects/encrypts info I type on the screen, when I scan it, it scans clean but when i rate it, it rates bad.
Thanks.

Hi Shannons
Thanks for the reply, but the post you are talking about was me replying to another user about re-installing 360. My actual post regarding norton insight, which I posted on the 22/12 has gone missing. I'm a little confused about norton insight and I'm not sure exactly how it works.
as mentioned above Im not sure exactly how it works, because a file I downloaded KeyScramler from cnet scans as clean but rates as bad. does that mean someone else has used it and found it to be infected. maybe something norton missed in the scan?
In my earlier post I called it a keylogger buit ment to say its a keyscrambler. but anyways it scans clean but rates as bad.
thanks

Try logging on, and checking your "All-Up POSTs" in the "COMMUNITY".
If the "POST" is still listed under your entries, it's still about somewhere.
Check the route and branch, to see where it currently lives.
Occasionally, the posts are moved to a more appropriate address areas ?

hi and thanks for the reply.
that was the first place I checked before posting.. I guess it was deleted, could be because I called the file a keylogger instead of a keyscrambler.
MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU TOO :D

Have you checked the 'Autosave Drafts' section in your profile? Your missing post may actually be sitting there. To check, sign in to the Community and click your username. This will bring up a page entitled 'About Sanders'. To the right of your 'Public Statistics' you should see a section called 'Autosave Drafts'. Your missing post will be listed here if it is still in a draft state ie yet to be posted. If it is there, click on it's link to load it into the Rich Text Editor. From there, you can continue editing it or,if you are happy with it, click on the Post button to post it.

it was definitely posted because I recieved my 1st rank for the post. its not in the autosave drafts either. Doesnt matter ill start a new one if needed, i think it must of been deleted maybe for calling it a keylogger i guess.
anyways does anyone know why a file that scans clean the same app rates as bad.
thanks

Hi,
Clean code can do bad things. The 'delete' command isn't blocked/removed/etc. but apply it incorrectly and there could be h**l to pay, along with many hours of recovery and rebuild.

Norton doesn't censor messages here. Occasionally they will edit something to remove sensitive personal information or for language outside the Terms and Conditions of using the Forums but they are not likely to delete a whole message because you use the term keylogger.

With all due respect Master Hugh, I recently posted in the Forum Feedback Board and watched in front of my very eyes the post vanish. It was not moved, just vanished. I did receive a PM from one of our Norton Community Administrators regarding same. This was a misunderstanding and my post can now be viewed here.
Thanks, Dave.
