Running Windows 7, Ultimate, on 64BIT machine. Norton 360 V6 has been running fine up to now. I don't know what you call this box, I call it a STATUS BOX. Its a little box about 1 inch by 3/4 inch that appears on the upper right of my desktop. It's has little boxes inside and is GREEN color when all is well and RED when PC needs attention. Up to 6/2/2012 in AM the box appeared OK. However this PM (6/12/12) it disappeared COMPLETELY!!!!! I ran a registry cleaner and rebooted, this did not solve the issue. I then uninstalled Norton 360 V6 and rebooted. I then reinstalled Norton 360 V6 and rebooted and the STATUS BOX reappeared. I then ran LIVE UPDATE and Rebooted. Then ran Live update a second time and rebooted again. AFTER PC REBOOTED THE STATUS BOX DISSAPEARED AGAIN!!!! (Also noted on another PC (32 bit) thats running Norton 360 2013 BETA this status box disappeared also!) Any idea whats going on or have your program/software personal removed this status box???
Please advise. Thank you. William Droese

Hi!
That's a "Gadget", a feature of Windows 7. Go to Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Appearance and Personalization -> Desktop Gadgets. There you should see the Norton gadget. Right-click on it and select "Add".
The gadget is not related to whether or not your Norton product is protecting you system or not. Even if the gadget is uninstalled or inactive, Norton still works as it should.

Thanks, that worked the Norton Gadget is back. It's weird though as I did nothing abnormal to TWO PC's, both running Window 7 and the Gadget disappeared in both about the same time. Thanks again, Bill

It could have been an update to Norton or Windows that may have brought this on.
