Setup
Verizon Fios - Router - Vista SP1
Browsers - IE7, Firefox 3.0.5, Safari, Google Chrome
Windows Firewall off. Firefox "fradulent" and "attack" warnings off.
Norton Firewall set to "Allow" for all browsers. Phishing on/off - no difference.
All browsers run extremely slow - most "stall." Can't run more than one tab. Firefox gives me the "white window." All give "Not responding" message. Most don't open a page the 1st time.
This was not a problem before VISTA (worked under XP) or before 360 ver. 2.0. (which is updated)
Everyone points the finger at everyone else. Norton 360 mentioned as a problem application on all the other web boards yet there doesn't seem to be a consise set of fixes to get it all to work.
How should these various applications be set to work correctly

Hi Saransk,
Are you using Windows Vista 64-bit?
Is the problem started happening after upgrading from Windows XP to Windows Vista?
Have you upgraded to Windows Vista with Norton 360 installed on XP?
You can try to uninstall the Norton 360 2.0 using the Norton removal tool and reinstall Norton 360 2.0.
1. Go to this LINK and follow the instructions for uninstall. Run Norton removal tool multiple times(2-3 times) to make sure that all components are completely uninstalled.(Make sure to get the Product Key before uninstall)
2. Then download a Trialware of Norton 360 2.0 from this Symantec Web Page. You can install and activate it using the same product key. Run LiveUpdate repeatedly until you see the message that no more updates are available. Let us know results.
Wishing you a Very Happy New Year!

Brand new install of Retail Norton 360 2.0 - updated with latest updates.
VISTA is Business 32bit SP1 - New/Clean install
Should run without problems.
If it was just Firefox I'd be on their case but all of the Web browsers are having various problems. Only Google Chrome seems to run without major problems opening pages.

Hi Saransk,
You can disable the Firewall from Norton 360 and check the connectivity through firefox/other browsers.
1. Start Norton 360.
2. Click Settings.
3. Click Firewall Protection.
4. Under General Settings tab, uncheck Turn on Firewall.
5. Select Until System Restart and click OK.
6. Click Close.

Turning off the Firewall seems to help.
Still doesn't play well with Firefox.
Google Chrome runs the best but IE 7.0 no longer refuses to work.
For best results I've turned of the Phishing filter
So far, Norton 360 2.0 and Vista are not doing well.
I'll be upset if the only solution is to remove Norton
Why did it work with Windows XP and not with VISTA.

Hi Saransk,
I think, the issue is with the firewall configuration for Firefox and Internet Explorer. You can try modifying the Firewall Program Rules:
1. Start Norton 360.
2. Click Settings.
3. Click Firewall Protection.
4. On the Programs Rules tab, in the Program column, scroll through the list until you find the entry for Mozilla Firefox.
5. Change the Access to Allow.
6. Scroll down the list, find the Internet Explorer and Change the Access to Allow.
6. Click Close.
7. Check if the you are able to access the Internet.
Let us know the results.

Hi Saransk,
Can you try disabling the Symantec or Norton Add-ons from the browsers and then check for the issue?
