Whats the deal with the 360 4.0 not being able to run on windows 7?
I am running the 90 day trial and it worked fine for a couple days now when I start the computer and click on the Norton 360 it says it is not compatible with this version of windows
It certainly does not bode well for a trial to already have problems on a clean windows 7 ultimate install on a new machine.
The trouble shooter took me to some download then would not let me update and wanted me to go to a buy site from Symantec?
Would I want to buy this after this on a 2 day old trial? I think not!
Come on Symantec after hating your products until 2009 I have starting using your studd again and am quite happy with NIS 2010 but this 360 4.0 seems to be bad!
Help out there? Symantec?

Hi stocker340, without knowing the error message, we're not sure what the issue is. However, there is an issue that some users are seeing, and I suspect is the same one that you are seeing:
Within that thread is also a workaround for the message. Please let us know if this is not the issue you are seeing, and reply with more details about the issue. Thanks!

i have suddenly started getting the same message on windows 7 if i click on the desktop icon.
just ignore it if you opt to run anyway all is ok and clicking on the taskbar icon works ok without this warning, i think a recent windows update has causes the warning.

That didn't fix the problem for me. I got the compatibility issue notification and was able to turn that off, but my computer is still messed up. Pages won't load, it's blocking sites that I use frequently, and it's running very slowly. My computer is less than two weeks old and was working fine until I installed that update!! I was even connected to the Norton help desk last night and let them dig around in my machine (remotely) for almost an hour. They claimed it was fixed but it's not.
I'm extremely frustrated with the whole thing. My next move is to uninstall Norton and go with MacAfee or some other product that works!
