Norton 360 6.0 Browser Protection

First, it's absolutely ridiculous that posting here seems to be the only way to leave Norton a comment/suggestion.  I shouldn't have to go through the process of registering, verifying my email, etc., just to have a way to leave a comment.

I installed Norton 360 6.0 and it kept telling me I needed to "fix" Browser Protection.  Both times I clicked the "Fix Now" button, it informed me that it couldn't fix the problem, and when I clicked on the "Help" link, it only took me to a page informing me of what "fix" does.  Amazing, since it turned out that the Browser Protection was off.  Apparently, Norton 360 has the ability to do all sorts of amazing things, but it can't just inform me that the problem that needed to be "fixed" was that Browser Protection simply needed to be turned on.

Furthermore, according to the site, under "Turning off and turning on Browser Protection," it states, "By default, the Browser Protection option is turned on."  Not true.  It was turned off upon installation, and I had to turn it on.  Also, it would be helpful to note on the "Turning off and turning on Browser Protection" page that one needs to restart one's computer in order for changes to take effect.  It stops instructions at clicking on "Apply."  When searching on the forum for "browser protection," I noted another user on the forum seemed to have had a similar problem, and he/she was told to uninstall and reinstall the program, when it was pretty clear that he/she hadn't tried restarting the computer after turning on Browser Protection.  Really?  Having a customer uninstall/reinstall instead of a simple restart?  Amazing.

I understand Norton is a massively gigantic company, but the inability to make a simple comment and leave a suggestion is poor customer service, perhaps a sign of bureaucracy-turned-idiocy.  Finally finding a place to leave a comment resulted in having to go through a separate registration process, even knowing that this comment will probably never be read by anyone--let's just say the process has effectively turned what was a simple comment into a dissatisfied customer.

Re: Norton 360 6.0 Browser Protection

Just to be clear.

Is your system working properly now, after the restart, or do you still require assistance?

Hi patric,

I would just like to add that when you open N360 there is a place to leave feedback along the top of the GUI.  :smileywink:
