Norton 360 Backup File Update

Hi

I have just started using NBU and have the following question.

I inadvertently backed up a file which I later deleted from my desktop PC. The file was not removed automatically from the backed up data. I have since deleted it manually.

My question is if NBU does an incremental backup why did it not detect that the file had been deleted and remove it from the backed up data?

Many thanks

Welcome

One of the main reasons to backup is to give you a return path in case you accidentally delete a file. If Norton automatically deleted this from the backup it would defeat one of the main reasons to back up.

If you purposely delete a file, and you are absolutely sure you will never need it again, you can manually delete it from the backup, as you did

You are welcome.

The only dumb questions are the ones you do not ask.

We often had to learn something by having it described by a second source in a slightly different way.
