Is there an easy way of ensuring that the N360 backup copies all files in a folder.
In the backup set, I have ticked the box for 'Other File Types' and have it set up to backup the E drive on my machine - however, it was only when I needed to restore one of my development files (a *.php file), that I found it was not in the backup set !!
I have now added .php as one of the filetypes for 'Other File Types' but what other types of files are going to be missed ?

Instead of what file types are missed, you can better check on what file types are included for backup:
Then add the specific file to "Other File Types" if it is not already included in the set of backup file categories.

Surely it would make more sense to be able to copy whole folders (including sub-folders) whatever the file types are within those folders...
For example, I use Mozilla Thunderbird as my email client - I have no idea what file extensions etc it uses for storing for its mailbox data - looking at that list, N360 only recognises Outlook email box types....

It may not be very obvious in the backup UI, but if you add a folder to a backup set, by default that folder will have all its files backed up regardless of extension.
- Create a new backup set
- Click “Add or Exclude files and folders”
- Click “Include Folder”
- Select some sub-folder under “My Documents” folder
- Click OK and Preview
From the Preview window you should see all filetypes under the sub-folder you selected. That is my experience in using N360v6 backup.

Hmm - yes that does seem to work (and also copies the contents of sub-folders within that main folder). It is just not too obvious that this is different to simply checking the tickbox on a drive letter at the side.
However, maybe it would make more sense to allow wildcards..
