Norton 360 Disc Optimization: How long should it take?

Hello, my laptop is about a week old and Norton tells me I need to optimize the hardware, so now its been running disc defrag for 30 mins. My hard drive is 500 GB, so I'm wondering how long it should normally take to defrag. And will it just defrag the C: drive or the recovery drive D: ?

The disc defrag is like any in that the length of time depends on the extent of the defragmentation. How long you have had the PC is not as relevant as the amount of files/progs you have loaded, unloaded or modified. Suffice to say 30 mins is nothing, over 15 hrs would be lengthy.
