Re: Norton 360 Premium 6.1.2.10 no Home Group or Home Network

Goto Settings--> My Network --> Network Map click on Purge --> Restart the Computer --> Open the network Security map again and then give Full trust to those devices once again.

Also Open Network and Sharing center by right clicking on the Network icon at the bottom right corner--> Click Advanced sharing option at the top left corner --> select the options turn ON Network Discovery and turn ON files and printer sharing and then check now.

Still nothing.

Edit: I've just noticed something odd. When running the PC version of Allshare and not the version on the Android device, it's actually detecting the Android device "and" the Homegroup. The Homegroup also appears to have it's own gateway address to underneath the icon. Should I try putting that in the 360 settings for full trust? Or is that completely non-related as I still can't see it on the other two devices.

Can you restart one more time and check.

And if its not working, Please Backup the Identitysafe Data-->uninstall N360P from the start menu (select Remove all data option) and try to access those devices.

If it goes well then install the Norton36P again then give full trust to those devices again.

EDIT: Is that Default gateway IP different from the one that showed up when you ran ipconfig?

Re: Norton 360 Premium 6.1.2.10 no Home Group or Home Network

Yes it is. Very different. But I don't think it's supposed to be the default gateway IP. I was wondering whether it was just a generic IP assigned to the Homegroup itself? As I said the Homegroup icon is only showing up on the PC version of Allshare not the Android device version and it's still not showing up in Windows Media Player like it used to either. And that's normally the first indication that it's present and correct.

So you still want me to uninstall 360? :-l  Backup identitysafe data?

Yes Larry. A reinstall will give you a fresh start to help in identifying a solution to this problem.

Larry,

<<  When running the PC version of Allshare and not the version on the Android device, it's actually detecting the Android device "and" the Homegroup. >>

Is your PC running Windows 7? "Homegroup' came in on Windows 7 for use between Windows 7 computers and it doesn't work for example between a Windows 7 computer and a Windows XP computer where Workgroup was the default!

I'm not an expert on networks but I frequently see a similar problem in other forums where I do support on Windows and people set up a new computer with Windows 7 and it can't see the XP computers ..... change them all to Workgroup or any other name you want to use except Homegroup and the network shows up normally.

I would expect that situation to be even more so with non Windows computers .... but who knows ... just a thought.

When you re installed, did you use the Norton Removal Tool or the Remove and Reinstall Tool? If you did not, there could be remnants of old installs that can be causing issues with the current install.

The Remove and Reinstall Tool can be found here www.norton.com/nrnr

Be sure to back up your Identity Safe data first.

Run the NRNR

Run LiveUpdate a few times, rebooting as necessary, until no updates are available.

Import your Identity Safe data.
