Hi All,
Has any of you experienced Norton 360 Quick Scan gets stuck? For last two days, once it started Quick Scan, it got stuck after 5000+ files were scanned. Then it was stuck even I clicked STOP or Pause, nothing happened until I logged off to force it to end. This was very annoying, let alone it never went through the quick scan. I used Norton Internet Security 2011, never had such thing happened. I wish I had not upgraded to 360, so far it has brought more little issues I cannot resolve, and I cannot say any good words about it.

Hi Giada
1Check whether you have any other security products . if yes, remove them
2. Clear the temp files.
3. Clear prefetch.
4. Run LiveUpdate.
restart your computer run a scan
check what happens
keep me on the loop

Hi Venkat0052,
Thank you for your kind answer. Please forgive me such a novice. I am not sure if there are any other security products, you mean, other anti-virus software? There is none. I understand the temp files and removed them, but not sure about prefetch, what are they? Files? Run LiveUpdate -- where can I find LiveUpdate? Sorry for these dumb questions, but I don't really know.
Many thanks for your help,
Giada

Hi Giada not to worry
prefetch are on your computer
to get access to prefetch folder
Win key + R
type prefetch
and you will get access to the prefetch folders
delete all the files in it .
to run a live update
open norton 360 -> move your mouse over pc security
you will get options such as View details, run scans, run Live update
go ahead and click on live update
kindly keep me on loop
Thanks and regards

Hi Venkat0052,
I went back to my computer to scrutinize files after I wrote the last post to you. I reinstalled a work related certificate, then I rebooted my computer and re-ran Quick Scan, and it worked! Thank you for guiding me through this, now I am happier, although I still need to look for the prefetch folder and LiveUpdate option, so I will know where they are and what they are.
Many thanks again,
Giada

Hi Venkat0052,
I have been busy on other things and haven't got a chance to look for prefetch and live update yet. I will get it a try tonight and let you know.
But since you mentioned, I am just curious what this prefetch folder contains? I know temp files are all temporary and I don't need them later, but what the files in the prefetch folder are?
Thank you,
Giada
