After almost a year of running Vista Ultimate 64 bit with almost weekly+ blue screens, I just re-installed Vista Ultimate again. This time I ran in to problems with my install of Norton 360 Premier V2 and have not been able to get the license activated. Separate issue being resolved there......
Also had problems doing a full uninstall of Norton 360 - it hangs at the final step - trying to get Norton Tool Removal to clean machine. Separate trail there with no assistance yet.....
The plus side of all this, and a very big plus, is that I have not had any machine crashes for over 72 hours!! Seems like all along it was Norton 360 that's been causing the problems on my Vista Ultimate 64 bit machine. Has this combination been tested - is it supposed to work?
I see a few email trails on these Community pages stating otherwise.
360 itself seemed to be working fine, no problems installing, all options functioned correctly including backup. However, I would regularly get page_fault_in_nonpaged_area or something similar. All of these have now stopped.
Anyone else seen these blue screen issues with Vista Ultimate 64? I hate to have to switch to Microsoft Defender or something similar - at least, hopefully, it won't crash my machine daily.
Thanks
Tahir
